We are a purpose driven church that believes that church is about more than just sitting in a service once a week. Church is about creating an environment where people can find a relationship with God through Jesus Christ and then begin the wonderful journey of discovering their purpose.
We believe that God has designed each person for the following five purposes:
Everything we do as a church is designed to help us embrace at least one of these areas of our lives in a greater way.
To lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ by creating environments where participants are encouraged and equipped to pursue intimacy with God, community with insiders and influence with outsiders.
As gifted members of the body of Christ, each believer is responsible for exercising his or her gifts in tandem with other members of the body. It is not enough to exercise spiritual gifts. Maximum impact is contingent upon a coordinated, strategic exercise of gifts in the body.
We believe that every believer is responsible for passing along to others the knowledge, skills, and opportunities for service that God, through others entrusted to them.
We believe accountability, care, and a sense of belonging are critical to balance and progress in our spiritual journey. These three things are best achieved within the context of a small group of like-minded, relationally-connected believers.
We believe our role is to create environments that are conducive to the work of the Holy Spirit in the hearts of people. A relevant environment combined with competent leadership will allow us to connect with our audience.
We Believe God has spoken to us through the Scriptures. Therefore, the Bible is our ultimate authority.
Intimacy with God
We believe God desires an intimate relationship with every believer. Through prayer, meditation, worship, and Bible study, we can pursue and achieve intimacy with the Father.
We believe that all believers have the responsibility of carrying out the great commission in their sphere of influence.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
In any group of people there are invariablly different beliefs and values, we choose to emphasize our common beliefs, not our differences. Our church is filled with people from many different religious backgrounds and some with none at all. Most differences in beliefs are minor issues over irrelevant ideas and concepts that will only be known for certain when we stand together in heaven with our Savior Jesus Christ. Those areas we disagree about, we give space and freedom as long as they are not essential to our salvation. We want to be a church that is able to love both saint and sinner irregardless of their beliefs or values. We do not compromise on essential truths but we teach them with love and seek to lift up people, not put them down. The Bible, the Word of God is our source of all truth and our guide for living.
In the essential beliefs, we have unity. (We stand together on the basics of Christian faith.)
“There is one Body and one Spirit… there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of us all…” (Ephesians 4:4-6)
In the non-essential beliefs, we have liberty. (We have room for those with different non-essential beliefs.)
“Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters… Who are you to judge… Each of us will give an account of himself to God… So whatever you believe about these things, keep between yourself and God.” (Romans 14:1, 4, 12, 22)
In all our beliefs, we express love. (We are ALL family and we love each other even if we disagree.)
“If I hold in my mind not only all human knowledge, but also the very secrets of God, and if I have the faith that can move mountains — but have no love, I amount to nothing at all.” (1 Corinthians 13:2 (Ph))
